Party at MIT, Time Travelers Welcome!

Info: Time Traveler's reading list

Those crazy genius' at Massachusetts Institute of Technology have done it again. Possibly.
Let me be more specific: They are hosting an inaugural Time Traveler Convention Saturday.
According to a story on Live Science:

"We are doing this as a very low-risk, low-cost way to investigate the possibility of time travel," (organizer Amal) Dorai told LiveScience . "Of course the odds are against us, but imagine the scientific discovery we would have on our hands if a time traveler shows up. Of course, no time travelers doesn't rule out the possibility of time travel; they could have just decided not to come to our convention."
The gathering will be held at MIT's East Campus Courtyard. Dorai gave the specific coordinates for anyone needing to plug them into some futuristic machine: 42:21:36.025°N, 71:05:16.332°W.

Read the whole story here. Their official site is here.

They might be genius', but they still read comics (actually all true genius' do.) Which is where they got the idea for this convention: Cat and Girl.

But like most things today, a time traveler convention has already been done. The City of Perth in Western Australia hosted a similar event called Destination Day on March 31.

According to a post from one Australian Destination Day attendee, Time Travelers beware!:
shaen the magnificent
PEOPLE FROM THE FUTURE! IF YOU COME ON THAT DAY, I WILL STEAL YOUR TECH, GO FORWARD IN TIME AND KILL YOUR PARENTS!

Not very hospitable Down Under, are they?
In any case, it sure would be a hoot if someone from the future showed up at MIT with a handheld fusion generator and a phaser...
Hey, I can dream can't I?
