LOLA Maps the Moon

The Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter that's hitching a ride aboard the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, will give us the best view of the Moon any of us have ever seen. Its information data bank will be used to create highly detailed surface maps for future lunar exploration missions. Soon, someone will begin building a permanent facility on the Moon.
